Sad news: Baby devoured by giant rats in South Africa

'A three-month-old baby in South Africa has been eaten alive by giant rats after her mother left her alone to go on a drinking binge.

The baby girl died in the Katlehong township in Johannesburg, after her mother left her unattended for the entire night, reports the Khaleej Times Africa.

The 26-year-old mother was arrested for child neglect when she returned to the shack in the early hours to find the remains of her child in a blood-stained bed.

The baby girl’s twin brother, named Lucky, was spared a similar grisly fate as he had been taken along on the drinking binge.

Describing the horror, a neighbor said:
“The baby could only have died a painful death. The infant’s tongue, eyes and fingers had all been eaten.  Besides the missing body parts, the remains of her body had bites and wounds all over that were inflicted by the sharp teeth of the rats. This woman must rot in jail.”
Giant rats, some growing up to a meter long, are a major problem for the poverty stricken townships in South African cities.
In 2011, two baby girls were killed and eaten in separate attacks in squalid townships, reports the Khaleej Times.

Lunathi Dwadwa, 3, was killed in a shack outside Cape Town as she slept on the floor beside her parents.

Another infant was eaten alive in a shack in Soweto while her mum was out with friends.

The month before grandmother Nomathemba Joyi, 77, died when giant rats chewed off her face as she slept.'

Say what! Donald Trump’s presidency prediction in 2012 saves man $2000

Donald Trump's rise to presidency may not be in the interest of many, however one lucky man got away with a loan of $2000 for predicting his win in a contract.
'Brothers Judd Markowitzz and Ryan Markowitz signed a contract for a $2,000 loan repayment in 2012.

Five years later, the Gmail document was uncovered with a rather surprising prediction of a certain someone as President of the United States.
In the signed document shared to Twitter, the brothers agree that while no interest will be accumulated while Judd paid off the loan, if any of their listed of circumstances were to happen, the payment would be waived.

That particular list included everything from loss of limbs, to the end of the world and Super Bowl predictions but what's more striking is the one of the last bullet points: "Rick Santorum or Donald Trump becomes President in 2016."

That's right. The Markowitz brothers somehow predicted Donald Trump would become president in 2016.

While technically Trump didn't move into the White House until 2017, it's still a pretty impressive prediction and that slight error doesn't matter to much to Judd, the original acceptor of the loan.

"People are pointing out obvious flaws in the contract," he tweeted. "I'm no lawyer, and my brother is a man of honor, and we can on agree on intent."

There is no word yet on whether or not the brothers, or the witness, had any contact with Russian officials when the contract was drafted' - via Mashable

Unbelievable!!! A Million Dollars lottery winner sues the Lottery company for Ruining Her Life.

21 year-old Jane Park is suing the lottery, because she claims winning it ruined her life.

Four years ago, when she was 17, Park won roughly 1.4 million dollars.
“It’s scary how different my life is from my friends’.

When they say they’re stressed about the money they mean their wages are s---,” she said. “There’s no one in the same boat as me, no one who really understands. I feel like I’m a 40-year-old.”

She said she only gets to go on about 4 vacations a year because her friends are too broke, and there’s one luxury vacation spot she won’t be going back to.

“In the Maldives, you can’t go and get absolutely hammered and crawl back to your water bungalow. It was more older, honeymooney.”

Park, who owns two houses and a purple Range Rover, told the Sunday People, “I wish I had no money most days.”

That said, she flaunts her wealth on her Instagram account.
“People look at me and think, ‘I wish I had her lifestyle, I wish I had her money.’ But they don’t realize the extent of my stress.

I have material things but apart from that my life is empty. What is my purpose in life?” as reported by fox32chicago

Trump Calls the News Media the ‘Enemy of the American People’

President Trump, in an extraordinary rebuke of the nation’s press organizations, wrote on Twitter on Friday that...
the nation’s news media “is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American people.”

Even by the standards of a president who routinely castigates journalists on Thursday he devoted much of a 77 minute White House news conference to criticizing his press coverage Mr. Trump’s tweet was a striking escalation in his attacks on the news media.

At 4:32 p.m., shortly after arriving at his Mar-a-Lago home in Palm Beach, Fla., Mr. Trump took to Twitter to write:

That message was swiftly deleted, but not before being seen by thousands of social media users.

Sixteen minutes later, Mr. Trump posted a revised version of the tweet. Restricted to 140 characters, the president removed the word “sick,” and added two other television networks to his list of offending news organizations.

Mr. Trump has regularly referred to the media as the “opposition party” to his administration, and he has blamed news organizations for stymieing his presidential agenda.

But the language he deployed on Friday is more typically used by presidents to refer to hostile foreign governments or terrorist organizations.' - NYT

Mass Deportations Have Begun, Congressman Says

U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro accused President Trump on Thursday of putting a mass deportation program into place,...
saying it goes beyond anything orchestrated by prior administrations.

In a flurry of tweets, Castro said it’s “hard not to conclude” that mass deportations have begun following a meeting he attended with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

He said ICE officials made it clear only Dreamers — undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children and protected by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals executive order — without any offenses “including traffic tickets” or perceived gang affiliations would be exempt. He said the only thing that will limit the program is the size of ICE’s budget.

He said ICE officials refused to answer questions about the number of people currently in detention centers, where the detainees are from and how many overstayed their visas versus how many were “border crossers.” He said the mandate now to deport is broader than under previous administrations.

During the Obama administration, nearly 3 million undocumented people were removed from the United States. During George W. Bush’s administration about 2 million were removed. At a press conference Thursday afternoon, President Donald Trump said DACA was a difficult subject for him.

"We're gonna deal with DACA with heart. I have to deal with a lot of politicians, don't forget and I have to convince them that what I'm saying is — is right," he said.

"And I appreciate your understanding on that. But the DACA situation is a very, very — it's a very difficult thing for me because you know, I love these kids, I love kids. I have kids and grandkids. And I find it very, very hard doing what the law says exactly to do and you know, the law is rough."

The San Antonio Express-News reported Josue Romero, a student at the Southwest School of Art studying to be an architect, was detained Wednesday after he was arrested on marijuana possession charges, a misdemeanor. His family came to the United States when he was 4 from Honduras.

“We’re afraid that they’re going to deport him because he came here when he was a very young and he doesn’t know anything about Honduras,” his mother, Norma Velasquez, told the Express-News.

Trump pledged during the campaign to deport the estimated 11 million immigrants in this country illegally. After the election, he softened the stance, saying criminals would be targeted. Immigration raids last week resulted in hundreds of detentions across the country.
